Dissemination and Outreach
A vital part of RUPRI’s work is keeping a broad range of agencies, institutions, organizations, and individuals appraised of current thinking and developments in policy that impacts rural people and places. Presentations to conferences and workshops, and publications in the form of books, chapters, and working papers originate from all parts of the RUPRI organization.
Each year RUPRI hosts two to three international conferences, five to ten national conferences, participates in 25-30 hearing or briefing testimonies at the international, national, regional or state levels, publishes 50 rural policy studies and provides leadership for over 250 major speeches or presentations throughout the nation and world.
Growing in importance is RUPRI’s international activities designed to stimulate the flow of ideas, opportunities, and experiences on rural and regional development across national borders. Institutional links are being established with organizations such as the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and International Rural Network.
